The First AZ Family Reunion 2012 Update

It is now official. We have successfully booked two-bedroom villas at Marriott's Canyon Villas in Scottsdale, AZ, for the following dates:

At this time, we can add villas for those who want to come. However, since there are strict cancellation policies, I will not be able to hold extra villas for last-minute deciders. And, by the same token, I will not be able to cancel a villa at the last minute, either. So, those of you who are still checking your schedules,please let me know by September 1.

We will send more information on deposit amounts and deadlines, soon. We will probably collect for the villas, first, then collect for food a few months from our actual date (then we can better confirm food prices for the most accurate cost)!

We are really excited for this location. The villas are roomy and very nicely decorated. Towels, bedding, kitchenware are already in the villa. The washers & dryers are very convenient, too. There are several pools on location (including a splash pool for little ones), plus a lazy river and several pools at the nearby JW Marriott Desert Ridge.

Family Reunion 2012 Update

Hello, everyone,

I wanted to give you more information about where we will be staying for our Jensen reunion (Monday, June 4 - Thursday, June 10, 2012).

The villas are called Canyon Villas, and they are next door to the J.W. Marriott Desert Ridge. You can go to the website to see photos.

To remind you, the villas have two bedrooms and two bathrooms, plus a living area and a full kitchen (with all appliances, dishes, utensils, etc). There also is a washer-dryer within each villa. The villas can sleep up to 8 people. All adults will have a King or Queen bed, but larger families will have to sleep some of their children on a sofa bed.

Canyon Villas has a huge pool area, plus a "quiet pool" (for adults), a splash pool for little ones, some game tables (such as foosball), and a few grassy areas. We can use the pools over at the J.W. hotel, and there is a shuttle that runs between the two properties. There is shopping right across the street, with an Albertsons, Target, Best Buy, movie theater, and various restaurants and chain retail stores.

The total cost per villa is $325 (for three nights). We are getting an amazing value (and a lot of space) for the price!

I have divided up families into their own villas and have listed the cost for each family. Please let me know if the arrangements are not to your liking and we can make some changes. Please also let me know if I have forgotten anyone! We still have time to add another villa.
